PAKISTAN AT 2047: PAKISTAN YOUTH ASPIRATION
“We cannot always
build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”
(Franklin D. Roosevelt)
Youth aspiration is a process by which young people hope and
imagine what their life will be like in the future. Individual preferences are
not the only factor shaping aspirations. Social interactions, institutions, and
other aspects of a young person’s life also significantly impact their
aspirations.
The youth of a country plays a vital role in the development and progress
of the country as it can bring social reform to a country. Youth contains people 15 to 29 years old who are full of aims, goals, determinations, and aspirations. It can determine the future
of a nation. It is full of energy and has the power to build a nation.
“Preventing the
conflicts of tomorrow means changing the mindset of youth today.”
(Graça Machel)
Despite other factors like personal preference,
social interaction, etc., education is the main factor in developing aspiration
among youth as the people from 15 to 29 are mostly students. All of the above,
teachers play an important role in shaping aspirations among the students.
Teachers motivate the students to build their aims and work hard for it. Education
broadens the mindset of a student.
“The more you study,
the more you see the world.”
In Pakistan, the
education system is changing day by day. Students are not supposed to just
study or stick to the books but the focus is on talent, skill, self grooming, and personality development of a
student. Now, the students know their rights and responsibilities as citizens
of Pakistan. The literacy rate in Pakistan is increasing rapidly. The sense of getting an education has been developed among the people of Pakistan.
There are two
powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen.
(Muhammad Ali
Jinnah)
Furthermore, the sense of women's education has been developed,
as in our society, a woman holds the entire family, whether she is a mother, a
sister, a wife, or a daughter. A well-educated woman brings up a well-educated family.
In this way, a well-educated society comes into existence. Nowadays, one can see women
in every field working for the betterment and progress of a country.
“No nation can
rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you.”
(Muhammad Ali
Jinnah).
Parents are qualified
and they help their children in their studies. They teach their children self-dependence and self-reliance which make children self-responsible. In this way, they understand their responsibilities as a citizen of Pakistan. Moreover, students
are fond of learning the English language because it is an international language
and is used officially in Pakistan. Besides that, Pakistani students are learning
Chinese, French, and Korean languages to go to these countries and visit the
world.
Besides that, the craving for foreign education is also increasing
among students. Students set goals to get higher education from abroad. Several students are getting foreign education from abroad on scholarships. Students go
abroad to see and explore the world as some of them are inspired by Quaid e
Azam and Allama Iqbal as they go abroad for higher studies. They noted how
people of other countries were living, what was their lifestyle, and what made
them to be a stronger nation. After noting this stuff, they came back and
awakened the sleeping nation.
“The real voyage of
discovery consists not in seeking new landscape, but in having new eyes.”
(Marcel Proust).
Several examples in Pakistan can be set as
an inspiration for youth, Arfa Kareem, the youngest Microsoft certified professional,
Muneeba Mazari, the best motivational speaker of Pakistan, pilot Rashid Minhas,
the youngest person to have received Nishan e Haider, and many more. Besides many Pakistani dramas like Sunaharay Din, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Ahd e Wafa, and Sinf
e Ahan evoke love for Pakistan among youth. Moreover, when it is studied that “The
first nuclear explosion took place in the mountains of Chagi and the air was filled with slogans of Allahu
Akbar”, one can feel goosebumps and pride to be a Pakistani. The struggles
and sacrifices to get Pakistan, the APS Peshawar attack, and the sacrifices of the army
on the border of Pakistan evoke passion
and craze among youth to do something for Pakistan.
On the occasion of every Pakistan day like 14 August and 23rd
March, the sleeping spirits of youth awake. History reflects in minds, every
moment when Muslims sacrificed their lives for Pakistan, the partition stories,
trains full of dead bodies, everything comes in front of eyes.
Nowadays, youth is most inspired by ex-Prime Minister
Imran Khan as he has developed the concept of an independent nation. He has built
the concept that Pakistanis are not slave of any other nation, they have their
own identity. Now it’s time to be an independent nation. Pakistan doesn’t need
to be dependent on any other nation. Pakistan itself is a strong nation.
Let's live together,
Let's stand together,
Let's make Pakistan
an independent nation.
The love for Pakistan has been embedded in the heart of every
single citizen of Pakistan since 1947. If the youth aspiration of early Pakistan is
compared with today’s Pakistan, it is the same. As the base of Pakistan is on the
base of Islam. Pakistanis believe that sovereignty belongs to Allah. This gives
satisfaction that this country is under the protection of Allah that’s why no
one has been able to destroy our country to date and will not be able to do
so in the future. This is the reason why whenever Pakistan faces any problem,
the morale of Pakistanis is high.
“There is no power
on Earth that can undo Pakistan.” (Muhammad Ali Jinnah)
Pakistan is achieved
after several sacrifices of our ancestors. They have faced a lot of
difficulties. Many children have lost their families. Mothers have sacrificed
their sons, sisters brothers, wives husbands, and daughters of their fathers,
then this homeland has been achieved. Whenever Pakistan has faced any difficulty,
the youth of Pakistan has faced it with bravery and courage. It has shown
unity to solve national issues.
“We must be
prepared to face all difficulties and consequences, make all the sacrifices
that may be required of us, to achieve the goal we have set in front of us.”
Mohammad Ali
Jinnah
Talking about unity, the sense has been developed among
youth that there is no discrimination based on gender, caste, color, creed, or race. The sense has developed among the people of Pakistan that every citizen is
equal. The fundamental rights are implemented on every person in the society
whether they belong to a different religion, caste, or society. With time, the people of Pakistan are developing a sense of discipline, respect for
others, respect for women, respect for the moral values of minorities, and the rights of the poor. Every single person has a right to respect. Not only one person is
responsible for the success of the country but every single citizen of Pakistan
takes part in the development and progress of the country.
Soldiers of Pakistan are ready to sacrifice their lives for
the sake of Pakistan. They are brave and strong. They protect Pakistan day and
night on borders. The Army selects the most energetic and determined youth and trains
them for the future. Not just this field work for the betterment of the
country. Doctors cure the people of Pakistan, social workers provide social
services to people, engineers construct homes for the shelter of people, and pharmacists work to make medicines for people. Every field has its own
importance and value which work for the
improvement of society. Many universities provide opportunities to youth so
that they can get knowledge about these professions.
“Education is a
matter of life and death to our nation. The world is moving so fast that if you do not educate yourself you will be not only completely left behind, but will be
finished up.”
(Muhammad Ali
Jinnah)
Different universities give scholarships to
brilliant students. This chance is for those students who are talented but
can’t afford university fees and due to this reason they cannot continue
their studies. Besides, many scholarships or schemes are there that motivate
students due to their brilliant work and effort like the Benevolent fund, Pakistan
Science Foundation Scholarship, Laptop schemes, and many more. These opportunities inspire students to study.
The right people in the right place make the environment peaceful.
Now students have the freedom to choose subjects of their own interest, as the
number of opportunities is increasing day by day. Parents do not just stick to
making their children doctors or engineers, the concept has developed that there is
demand for every field whether it is art, humanities, or science. Young people
don’t follow other’s destinations, instead, they build their own destinations and
follow their interests. They work by leaps and bounds to fulfill their dreams.
They choose the field that is suitable for them and work hard to reach its peak. For this purpose, several career counseling centers motivate and guide youth for the future.
“I do not believe
in taking the right decision, I take a decision and make it right.”
-Muhammad Ali Jinnah
Over time, the competition among youth is increasing. Everyone is trying to become
successful and rich in his life. He wants to become a millionaire. For this
purpose, social media plays a vital role. It helps students to remain up to date
with the world. There are several platforms where one can earn money online and develop
his skills without any age limit. Children from a very young age are involved in online
earning besides studies which is a sign that Pakistan is ready to take its
steps into the digital world.
Many institutions offer courses for students
such as graphic designing, web designing, freelancing, digital literacy,
programming, and many more. Such courses develop learning and leadership skills
among youth. Many universities also provide these services to the students. In
this way students do not waste time on holidays, instead, they go for these
courses. Many students do these courses side by side with studies and learn
time management.
“I insist you to
strive. Work, work and only work for satisfaction with patience, humbleness and
serve the nation.”
Quaid e Azam
Mohammad Ali Jinnah
(All India Muslim
Students Conference Jalandhar 15th November 1942)
The youth of Pakistan also play it’s role in sports. Nowadays,
cricket is the most famous game among Pakistani youth. It builds stamina and makes
youth physically fit. It develops a sense of teamwork and takes away all the
anxiety and tension of a person which makes the environment happy and peaceful. Many competitions take place all over the world like the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, cricket, and many more. Pakistani athletes actively participate in
these competitions and when Pakistan wins in these competitions Pakistani feel
proud of their country. Especially when Pakistan wins in the match between
Pakistan and India, it evokes aspiration among youth.
Many teenagers are fond of playing online games and are
building their careers in gaming. Many companies organize E-gaming competitions and give heavy prizes to position holders. This is
beneficial for students who are not well at studying but are well at
gaming. This Releases stress and depression among students.
Think a hundred
times before you take a decision, but once that decision is taken, stand by it
as one man.
(Muhammad Ali
Jinnah)
Moreover, many games build different skills among children
which helps to find their interests. Games like Strong Hold, Age of Empire, and Farm
Frenzy develop business and leadership skills among youth. Many other apps that
help children to learn things quickly and smartly.
Pakistan is a safe country, and women feel free to work in different environments in
Pakistan. In Pakistani society there are many acts like The Punjab Fair
Representation of Women Act 2014, The Punjab Protection Against Harassment
Women Amended Act 2012, Stamp Act 1964, that work for the protection of women
and children. Now, women are riding on bikes. They are seen in every field.
Young people grow up with the spirit that what this society
has given to them, they would have to return it back. Love for their land, love for their country, and love for their nation lies in their heart. They
grow up with the aim that they would have to work for the betterment of the
society in which they are living today.
“Development is
being sought in every walk of life and you have to take on this process of development.
Are you preparing to take on tomorrow’s responsibilities? Are you building your
capacity? Are you trained enough? If no, then go and prepare yourself because
this is the time to prepare yourself for future responsibilities.”
(Quaid e Azam address
to students)
There are a lot of NGOs that work for the betterment of
Pakistan, which do not work for fame or greed but work to make society
happy and social well-being. In Pakistan, there are equal rights for disabled people.
The youth that is not physically fit also have aspirations for Pakistan. Besides
this, In universities, different projects like Clean Green Pakistan, Blood
Donation, and Women Empowerment are assigned to students for social work. These
activities in university develop sympathy among students for the people of
Pakistan and broaden their minds. Not only men but women also take part in
these activities. In this way, students interact and communicate with different
people and come to know about what are the factors that cause the decline in the progress of the country. More
communication evokes different new ideas among students to make Pakistan a
stronger nation and to overcome the difficulties that society is facing nowadays.
Pakistan is like a
green land that contains youth as a lot of huge shadowy trees. These trees
drain water from the soil and in return give shadow to this green land and
increase elegance in this land. Birds come here and make their nests on these
trees. This makes the environment peaceful, calm, and prosperous.
How beautiful is
youth! How bright it gleams
with its
illusions, aspirations, dreams!
Book of
Beginnings, Story without End,
Each maid a
heroine, and each man a friend!
(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
Summing up, Pakistan is progressing day by day in every
field, whether it is education, trade, business, medical and technology. This
is because of the strong and energetic youth of Pakistan which is
proceeding with a lot of spirit and aspiration. Being Pakistani every person
works for the development and betterment of Pakistan. Not only men but women
also take part in the progress of the country. Pakistan is ready to be digitalized with an increase in craving for social media among youth. The number of
opportunities has been increased for the youth of Pakistan. Several
institutions, academies, and organizations have been built for career counseling,
educating, and developing skills among youth to work for Pakistan. There are
implementations of the acts that are against
violence which make Pakistan a safe place. The institutions are polishing youth
into doctors, engineers, soldiers, pilots, businessmen, architectures, teachers,
artists, and freelancers, who work by leaps and bounds for the progress of
Pakistan. Keeping in mind, the progress of Pakistan from 1947 to nowadays, it
can be predicted that Pakistan will be a developed and independent state in the coming
future. Pakistan will be a peaceful and prosperous country in 2047.
